The Japan-America Society of Greater Austin (JASGA) invites you to join us for the 2019 Award Gala. This international event brings together the Japanese and American communities to recognize leaders in the field of US-Japan friendship relations. The gala will take place in the early evening on Friday, March 29, 2019, at the LINE Austin hotel.

Join us along with our Honorary Director, Hideo Fukushima, Consul-General of Japan, to celebrate the JASGA Spring Gala and Award Dinner. This year we will pay tribute to our distinguished Bridges-to-Friendship Award recipient, Dr. Sheila Fling of Urasenke Chado Jun-kyoju Certified Instructor and Professor Emerita of Texas State University.
Ambassador Tom Schieffer, President & CEO, Envoy International and Former U.S. Ambassador to Japan will be our Keynote Speaker. Mr. Andy Hajime Tryba of Entrepreneur and CEO of Think3, Crossover, RideAustin, Engine Yard, DNN Corp, Kayako, Bizness Apps, FogBugz, School Loop, Agemni, and SLI Systems, Board Member of Texas Central High Speed Rail, and founder of the Japanese Heritage Academy will be our guest speaker. Mayor of Austin Steve Adler also join us.
Austin Taiko will be performing on Japanese drums. They have been beating Taiko and contributing Japanese Taikodo to our community in Austin and Central Texas for over 22 years.
The Spring Gala and Award Dinner features a cocktail reception for sponsors, dignitaries,and participants, silent auction, followed by dinner and the award program.

JASGA appreciates your donations for the Silent Auction that will be held at the Reception and Dinner & Program on March 29 at 6:00 pm. Popular items include Japanese plates, kimono, artisan gifts, airline tickets, event tickets, and restaurant gift certificates.
