Thank you for your help to keep Austin's authentic, beautiful Japanese garden clean today. It was pretty nice morning and we enjoyed working together.
We are sure that Taniguchi Isamu ojii-chan was happy to see us. We celebrated the 50th year of his garden with bamboo shoot rice.

 Spring 2019

Dear Friends,

Today is the last day of spring in the northern hemisphere (March, April, May) according the seasonal calendar.

Hello Hakusho- light summer!
Hakusho _light summer_
I had the chance to be in the audience to listen to Taiko music twice this spring. As I listened to the Taiko beat, I was reminded of a Japanese expression: Chi ga sawagu.  It means "my blood is excited."

When I saw a performance by Kodo Taiko troop from Sado Island in Japan with my UT Kendo buddies, one of my Edokko (born & raised in Edo Tokyo) Friends said that whenever he hears Japanese Taiko music, "my Japanese blood thrills with excitement." These days I really understand what he meant by that feeling.

Then I thought that Northern Texans have had the same feeling when they go to a Texas Rangers or Dallas Cowboys game: their Texan blood tingles with excitement. Some cowboys or cowgirls might share that feeling at the rodeo.
Rodeo Austin

JASGA would like to share that moment of the excitement with people of Austin, Central Texas, and Japan. We will try to offer you the programs and events to share the excitement, happy feelings with you. Of course, like Chanoyu teachers, meditators, or martial arts practitioners, we'd like to share and offer a very peaceful and quiet time with you.

We hope many of them deeply understand and fall in love with Japanese profound and exciting culture. We always appreciate your suggestions and comments and make it to a much, much better organization. We always thank you for your generosity and support.
