Dear Friends,

Happy Spring!

"Hachiju-hachi-ya" (八十八夜) is the 88th day from the beginning of spring on February 2. Tea farmers start picking tea leaves to make wonderful green tea. This year, May 2nd is hachijyu-hachi-ya during the Golden Week in Japan.

It is the peak of tea picking. The new tea picked this day is said to be the best tea in the year.

There are many different tea such as sencha (green tea), genmaicha (green tea with roasted brown rice), hojicha (roasted tea), matcha (powdered tea), gyokuro (essence of best Japanese green tea) and so on.  Green tea contains vitamin C and catechin which are good for your health.
