JASGA cultural program in April 2017 presented Japanese traditional arts hands-on workshop; Chanoyu (Urasenke school) with Linda Mosley and Ikebana (flower arranging) with Yoshiko Imai (Ikenobo school).
The participants enjoyed learning to whisk a bowl of matcha and drinking tea being mindful, welcoming and respectful of other people. They also explored varieties of matcha.
Then, the participants learned and discovered the elegant floral arts of ikebana and stepped into traditional Japanese aesthetics. They enjoyed creating their own floral artwork in a relaxed, friendly environment.
Thanks for instructor's assistance, Toshiko Hayashi and Michelle Ng Whitehead.
