Kimono Fashion Show & Origami Hands-on Activity

Japan-America Society of Greater Austin (JASGA) presented a Kimono Fashoin Show at the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden & Museum. We also hosted Japanese origami art tutorials in the garden and museum while engaging in other creative activities.
A kimono is a traditional Japanese garment which is still worn and beloved in Japan. Exquisite Kimono of different styles, colors, and patterns worn by fifteen Japanese and Americans models were presented to the Austin and Central Texas communities. Specific styles for children, adults, females, and male showed the generational versatility of Japan’s traditional garment. The show was offered at the UMLAUF Family Day on Sunday, April 6th, 2014.
Despite the rainy day, we had a pretty good crowd. Thanks for your participation in the event and all of the volunteers including Origami instructors, Kimono models, kimono dressing help, MC, photographers, JASGA events & membership committees, and UMLAUF Sculpture Garden and Museum!
