Travel to Japan as part of  The 2013 Grassroots Summit 
July 1-8, 2013

The Japan-America Society of Greater Austin (JASGA) is organizing a Central Texas delegation to attend the 2013 Japan-America Grassroots Summit which will be held on July 1-8 in Shimane Prefecture, Japan.

Shimane is home to legends, hot springs, and Izumo Shrine - a National Treasure of Japan.  Your week will take you off the beaten path, and you'll experience life in a Japanese home. 


The Opening Ceremony will be held in Izumo Grand Shrine, one of the 3 most prestigious shrines in Japan, and the Opening Reception will be held in Shimane Winery. The volunteer "key-persons" in 11 cities and towns of Shimane are now preparing the unique and fun local sessions in their local areas.

The Closing Ceremony will be held in English Garden of Matsue city, the capital of Shimane, and you will stay at historical and relaxing Tamatsukuri hot springs on the last night.

Optional: Extend your stay to visit other parts of Japan.
