Bamboo Logic Seminar

Saturday, July 14 2007, 10:00am - 12:00pm

Bamboo Logic is happy to present the seminar & workshop called “Bamboo: Know Your Enemy, Love Your Enemy!” The seminar will take place on Saturday, July 14th 2007 from 10:00 am to 12 noon in the Serena Room at Casa de Luz.  Seminar topics include bamboo horticulture (runners vs. clumpers), the myriad of useful and beautiful landscape applications, grove maintenance, and (of course) problem solving: containment or non-chemical eradication.

The first hour will be a narrative and visual presentation (handouts included).  During the second hour, attendees will observe the 6 different species of bamboo growing at Casa de Luz, and (weather/time permitting) get some hands-on experience in the bamboo grove on the Town Lake Hike & Bike Trail (for which the instructor is the grove adopter and caretaker) just two blocks away.   Cost $10.  Sunscreen, bug spray, and tools provided. Bring water and work–gloves, and dress protectively but lightly. Email bamboologic@gmail.com or call Jayne at 350-8505 to register or for more information.
